Camila Mateo, MD, MPH

Camila Mateo is a primary care pediatrician at Martha Eliot Health Center and Boston Children’s Hospital who focuses her work on the care of underserved children. She is the Associate Director of Anti-racism Curriculum and Faculty Development at Harvard Medical School and has been teaching anti-racism curricula in the health professions since 2016. Her medical education work focuses on anti-racism teaching in medicine, health equity, and diversity and inclusion. She also serves as the Diversity Officer for the Boston Combined Residency Program in Pediatrics between Boston Children's Hospital and Boston Medical Center. Her research interests include studying the effects of discrimination and intersections of identity on the health of youth and young adults as well as medical education research focused on reducing bias and discrimination in health professions learning environment.
